Leadership Jacksonville (LJ) Application Process

The LJ program consists of nine (9) full day programs, an opening reception, opening dinner and two retreats. The retreats are two days long and involve an overnight stay. Participation in the program requires a commitment to attend ALL program events. Participants are required to obtain the commitment of their employers to attend all the program events. In addition, graduates of the program are expected to sustain continued support for both the Jacksonville community and Leadership Jacksonville.

The LJ program actively solicits applications for this program from all sectors of the community. Selection for each year’s class is highly competitive. Criteria for selection include demonstrated or emerging leadership skills, active involvement in the community and a willingness to invest the time and energy required by the program. Selection is done by a committee of alumni volunteers through evaluation of nominations, completed applications and interviews.

Tuition for the program is $3,000. Scholarship assistance is available for those individuals for whom the tuition would prevent from participating in the program. Decisions on assistance are made based on financial need and are confidential.

A completed application consists of submission of the online application, a signed last page of the application mailed to Leadership Jacksonville and the nonrefundable $25 application fee made payable to Leadership Jacksonville. Only completed applications will be reviewed by the Selection Committee. It is advised to begin the application well in advance of the deadline.

The application deadline for the application, signed page and fee is January 27, 2012. Applications will not be accepted after this date until the following year. To complete the application form, click here.
